Dope Heel Hook off the sit-start, leads to a huge slap. Bust out some sick foot work and make your way up the right side of the arete. Get ready to use some crimp and pinch strength on this one.

Dain's Bulge

Well-known as a historic Flagstaff testpiece and as a benchmark for V8. Tip-rending crimps, slick knobs and small footholds lead from the lip of the overhang out the pretty bulge. Cold weather, fresh skin and intuitive footwork will come in handy.

This is a beautiful line hidden from the trail on a gently overhanging face. Begin at an inset right-hand edge and a microcrimp and head straight up, starting with a big move. Mind the landing.

Climb the bulging arete on palm-grating slopers, starting at a sloping pocket and a small knob. Turn the lip with a difficult mantel on poor holds.

The Bill Boulder (graffiti: "BILL P WAS HERE") is home to the crimping testpiece Flyswatter, an original benchmark for the V8 grade. Many problems exist on the caves and boulders above BILL.
