Not often done, but if you've climbed everything else or just love adventure it's worth doing. Start near a left facing corner, then climb the face to the left of this to a steep wall. Follow easier ground to trees above and belay from trees.

The first climb you come to on the Hone Wall. Climb a clean face straight up. Make a hard for the grade mantel move to a belay at a birch tree. 

Probably one of the most natural lines to be seen standing at the base, retro-bolted and G rated have at it.  

  Climb up the center of the wall gaining a flaring right facing corner in it's middle. Climb this to a small overlap and the top.

A fun route with a crux that's defiantly in you're face.  

  Start just right of Rain Dance and move up easy ground to the first bolt about twelve feet up. Climb to the roof, clip more bolts, get scrunched up and make a big reach to surmount this. Fun typical juggy climbing leads to the top.

A testpiece in runout face climbing. This bold lead begins by climbing past the first bolt of Broken Dreams. From a stance, move left on hard balance moves to a horizontal crack. Place some gear here and fire the crux. A few hard moves lead to a bolt. Clip it and continue on, staying left of the arete as you climb. Finish at the bolted anchor of Broken Dreams.

Start 15 feet left of the blocky corner, which is the start of NCO Takeoff. Climb a clean face between moss streaks up to a ledge, then face climb up to a lone bolt. Clip it, then launch into the crux. Climb the steep face to easier ground and top out at the bolted anchor. While the crux is protected, this route requires pulling 5.9 moves while very runout.

Climb up to a small roof/bulge right of race day. Pull over this on jugs then work up a face to a stance to the left of the Race Day anchors. Move left to these. This is one where it wouldn't hurt to have a small cam at the stance.

Excellent committing face climbing with some really great holds, this truly is an echo crag classic! 

  Start up easy rock to the first of four bolts. Climb past all of these at a consistent grade and hopefully making good decisions. Easy run out climbing leads to the top.

Climb up blocky ground to good face climbing up the left side of the wall encountering a crux before the last bolt. Then move right to finish as No Pigs. The Book says 10d to the left and 10b to the right, I went right and it felt Five ten.

Another juggy 5.9, why yes! 

  Easier climbing up to and over a bulge leads to a face with big holds before the final overlap.

The Hone Wall has been called Echo's sport climbing area but as far as I can tell had seen much less climbing than it was deserving of. This was a result of some serious run out climbing and often small sketchy gear.  There has recently been some retro-bolting going on here opening up some great climbing for a wider audience. Even with the addition of bolts some people will want a few pieces of small gear to protect the run out at the top of many of these routes especially as seepage can add a serious pucker factor to otherwise easy ground. The crag is several hundred feet long and maybe 90 feet tall at its max, much of the left side is vertical and the right side a bit slabby with an overlap guarding its top. You can lower sport style from the routes I've been on then rap from some pretty sweet homemade anchors, no joke they really are sweet, to clean the routes.
