A crux lieback up a thin vertical crack takes you up to a fun 5.10 roof. Easier climbing leads to the top.

The best line at Morbid Mound.  The route starts in the middle of the south face, about 15' left of

Hillside Strangler

, the prominent chimney.  Gain steep vertical crack and patina plates with positive holds.

Start up the easy flake of Myrmecocysus Ewarti. Branch off right and climb a short crux overhang, then continue on easy ground to the top.

Follows the left-angling crack/flake 15' right of

(5.2).

On the south face of the Morbid Mound a crack system lies perhaps 5-8 meters right of the left edge. This is Bouncer.

Just left of that, near the left edge, is this slab route that climbs the face past a few horizontals up top. Not much good for pro her.  It is harder, or at least more insecure than Bouncer - don't fall!

You can get a good "butt belay" stance above it that is secure to bring up a partner.

On the south face of Morbid Mound is a crack system perhaps 5-8 meters right of the left edge of the formation. This climbs up easy moves (I did not bother protecting) a few meters to a stance on a ledge, then up a finger crack system, perhaps anohther 6 meters to the top, where a good "butt belay" stance can be had to bring up the second. The pro I used was a few cams ~ 1" size, and placed just above the good stance at mid-route.  Well protected, moderate.

(5.1 R). About half way up, traverse right along small ledge and continue to top.

(5.2). Climb face to reach left-angling thin crack to flake.

(5.7) up prominent chimney.

Climb up the mound to start, after which you will find your first real move to get up the to obvious right foot; then most make one traverse move to the left and then climb up the thin face.

This route takes the fat flake just left of Be Wary. Starts up Be Wary, transfers out to the flake at about 10' off the deck. Fun transition moves, and std ow/squeeze (or lieback) to the top of the flake where it eases.

Around the corner, to the left of the main south face routes, is this route through steep black patina. Starts up a boulder on the desert floor, pulls into a varnished bowl. The committing pull into the bowl puts you directly below a handish crack with a smaller fingercrack/overlap just to its left. Beware some loose crystal chunks in the bottom of the handcrack. Work both cracks to exit. Not much to this one, but it's kind of exciting on the solo since the crux is the exit.

Follow the prominent "staircase" with giant edges on SW side of formation.  An easy solo or good choice for introducing beginners to basic movement on rock.  Descend off NW side of formation or downclimb route.
